Johns Hopkins + AI2AI announces Fellows and Faculty Research Awards
The Johns Hopkins University + Amazon Initiative for Artificial Intelligence (AI2AI) announces the selection of its 2023-2024 Fellows and Faculty Research Awards.
Exceptional JHU WSE PhD candidates have been selected based on their outstanding publication record, research proposal, and mentor support. They include Jiang Liu, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mathematical Institute for Data Science; Ambar Pal, Department of Computer Science and Mathematical Institute for Data Science; Aniket Roy, Department of Computer Science and Mathematical Institute for Data Science; and Xuan Zhang, Department of Computer Science.
Faculty Research Award recipients include Rama Chellappa, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mathematical Institute for Data Science; Anjalie Field, Department of Computer Science and Center for Language and Speech Processing; Philipp Koehn, Department of Computer Science and Center for Language and Speech Processing; Leibny Paola Garcia Perera, Center for Language and Speech Processing; Vishal Patel, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mathematical Institute for Data Science; Carey Priebe, Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Center for Imaging Science and Mathematical Institute for Data Science; and Jan Trmal, Center for Language and Speech Processing.
Johns Hopkins + AI2AI seeks to advance the state of the art in all areas of interactive AI technologies, enhancing interactions between humans and intelligent machines. The focus of the research initiative includes computer vision, speech and language, green AI, multimodal AI, security, and responsible AI approaches for data.
